The Balancing Act of Boundaries
What is Personal Space and why do we need it?
Boundaries are one of the most important, and most commonly overlooked, needs of human beings. Our comfort level in any environment is a direct correlation to our belief system of what is good and what is bad, although many instances leave so much room for grey area that we aren’t sure how to act.
Some may enter into every situation with a vigilant armor while others let themselves be constantly invaded by another’s energy. Both are learned protective mechanisms to provide a sense of safety even if that is incredibly uncomfortable.
This class will focus on how to pay attention to feeling states as intuitive indicators of safety. We tend to make choices about our boundaries within seconds. When we slow down and observe ourselves from a state of loving kindness we can become aware of how to use natural instincts, intuitive accuracy and critical thinking as a formidable palette of conscious decision making.
By simply shifting your perspective and grounding your observant mind you can determine what is appropriate for your well being.
We will focus on:
• Methods of understanding spatial awareness
• Developing appropriate energetic boundaries for yourself and in being with others
• How to develop flexible shields of protection that shift with each situation
• How to make boundaries that are consistent with your current needs
• The difference between energy leakers and energy vampires and how to be neither
• How to get your needs met without having to sacrifice or overwhelm others in order to be accepted
• How softening or hardening our boundaries affects our own energy and that of others
